Billy, Ryan, Brandon, Erich and the rest of the crew at Channel Brewing could have located anywhere, but they chose downtown Stockton as the location of their first brewery and taproom, lured by the promise and potential of the city’s historic core. This weekend, the crew will celebrate their one year anniversary of not just opening their first location, but changing the entire dynamic of the craft beer scene in Stockton. On any given weekend, the once sleepy corner of Weber Avenue and San Joaquin Street is now filled revelers enjoying some of the best brews in the entire region, made right here in downtown. And making great beer isn’t enough for these hometown entrepreneurs; they’ve also become one of the premiere spots for live entertainment, with musical acts of all kinds taking the stage.

Before Channel, the Belding Building’s ground floor was dormant, despite its prominent location in the heart of downtown. But, together with the Ten Space team, they transformed what used to be a mini mart space in the Belding Building into a working nano brewery and tap room with modern industrial finishes– concrete bar top, wood accents and 20 foot high ceilings. But the real crowd pleasers are the bountiful, rotating locally brewed beers on tap, from the 209 Blond Ale to the Wayward Captain Double Vermont IPA, to the famous Smokey scotch ale, to name a few.
In just one year, Channel Brew has grown by leaps and bounds and attracted a fiercely loyal following. Come celebrate one year with them this weekend! [Saturday 3/24/18 @ 4pm 110 N. San Joaquin St.]
