Zac Cort – Ten Space Developement

Few things define the character of a neighborhood quite like the dining establishments that populate them. Over the past couple of years, many new eateries and watering holes have ventured into Downtown Stockton, filling the city’s grand buildings with food and flare. And while this renewed sense of culinary energy is fueled by the sum of several businesses, there is one spot in particular that rises to the top: Cast Iron Trading Company.
Just two years ago, owners Eric Lee and Tommy Mogan were kicking the tires on the idea of opening a brick and mortar restaurant, slinging some of the best eats in Stockton at festivals and private events from their mobile food operation. And in October 2016, they made the leap, anchoring the revitalization of the Belding Building. With the help of Zac Cort and the team at Ten Space, Cast Iron Trading Company transformed a former vacant storefront in a 100 year old structure into a uniquely designed bastion of epicurean delights. Beer braised pork sliders, slab bacon BLTs, and garden fresh market salads adorn the eclectic dining menu accompanied by a perfectly curated selection of craft beers, wine, and kombucha.
Cast Iron’s success goes beyond food and drink, as they have also become a go-to for live music and art shows on any given night on a corner of downtown that was previously deserted in the evenings. And on Sundays, they serve quite easily the best brunch in Stockton, boasting gourmet chicken and waffles, avocado toast, and even a breakfast burger. With their combination of incredible fare and unmatched urban ambiance, Cast Iron Trading Company is playing a significant role in the revitalization of Downtown Stockton.
