In May, we at Ten Space were pleased to learn that our Open Window Project—our transformative plan for the revitalization of Downtown Stockton—was chosen for a prestigious urban design award for the Sacramento region. Today, we’re proud to announce that we’ve outdone ourselves again.
Ten Space is incredibly honored to announce that the Open Window Project has been awarded the 2016 Award of Excellence in Urban Design by the American Planning Association, California Chapter. Across the entire state, our project was selected as one of the best. The award will be formally presented in October at the APA California Conference in Pasadena.
The Award of Excellence in Urban Design is given to projects that exemplify core urban planning principles and create a true sense of place. The Open Window Project achieves this and more, combining active street-level design, urban greening components, and a variety of building and housing options to create a diverse tapestry within our downtown built environment.
While awards are humbling, they do not signify the completion of our journey. We continue to move forward with the implementation of the principles put forth in our Master Development Plan. Stay tuned, Stockton. Our vision for a vibrant downtown is not far from reality.
Congratulations all of Your hard work is paying off. You are making Downtown Stockton beautiful again and revivng back to life what was once the heart ❤️ of this city!
